A full-time permanent opportunity has become available for a motivated and experienced Multi-Skilled Operator. Based at our Nyora site (South Gippsland region), this position will provide all aspects of operational support to the Mobile Plant.

The role

We are a small but very busy company, and we are seeking someone who can hit the ground running. You will require the ability to balance working autonomously, as well as knowing how to roll up your sleeves and be a team player.

The duties for the successful candidate will include but not be limited to, the following:

  • Operate a number of HME including loader, sales loader, dump truck, excavator, bulldozer, grader, crane (desirable)
  • Conduct daily Pre-Starts on assigned HME
  • Aid maintenance team as required
  • Monitor plant, including dry plant stockpiles, and report any issues of low stocks
  • Attend all Pre-Starts and Safety Toolboxes as required
  • Ensure sites are maintained in clean and orderly state and undertake rehabilitation, as required meeting appropriate environmental and safety standards
  • Participate in safety inspections/audits as required
  • Recommend changes, which could reduce cost, increase productivity and improve product quality
  • Ensure all systems, registers, filing (both electronic & paper based) are maintained and up to date
  • All other duties as directed by the Site Operations Supervisor & Quarry Manager

What you bring to the role

  • 5+ years’ experience in a range of HME equipment (civil/quarry experience is essential)
  • First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • Must possess appropriate current licenses and tickets, as required by the company, to drive and/or operate company owned vehicles, plant or equipment, relevant to this position
  • Full Australian work rights
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build strong relationships at all levels
  • Outstanding work ethic, perseverance and a can-do attitude
  • Flexibility to work different shifts and over time
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build strong relationships at all levels
  • A “Safety First” approach with a strong understanding of the importance in abiding by all HSEQ policies and Operational Procedures, immediate reporting of non-compliance issues and hazards, and in promoting a positive HSEQ culture
